Think of the silent screen film era and names like Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, and Harold Lloyd spring to mind. But how many womens' names can you come up with?
However, at the time women were involved in all aspects of the silver screen both in front of and behind the camera. And there was Clara Bow, the original 'It' girl who was the first sex goddess of the silver screen.
David Robinson, the director of the 21st Pordenone Silent Film Festival in northern Italy decided it was time to celebrate the contribution comediennes made to the silent screen era.
