Evelyn De Morgan was one of the very few female Pre-Raphaelite artists of the mid-19th century, and certainly the most talented.
She was also one of the first women to study at Slade, and one of the few women artists invited to exhibit at the Grosvenor Gallery. Yet, compared with her male contemporaries, such as Edward Burne-Jones and William Morris, her work is far less well known.
We'll be discussing her life and work, and how female artists were regarded by the male-dominated Pre-Raphaelite movement.
