Traditional British reserve has meant that whilst other nations have loved, cried, fought and made up with no embarrassment, we prefer not to express too much emotion ? and certainly not in public.
So what's changed? Since the unprecedented outpouring of grief after the death of Princess Diana we've felt more and more able to express our emotions in public. Even the Queen shed a tear on Remembrance Sunday this year.
