Teenage Mums Wednesday 2 October 2002
It's generally assumed that if a schoolgirl becomes pregnant her career prospects are finished, but in September the government introduced new rules which mean that every school-age mother must receive full-time schooling.

So far 89 local education authorities with high levels of teenage pregnancy have received 15 million pounds from the Department of Education and Skills to help bring them back to school.
In Coseley, in the Black Country, the Batmanshill Pupil Referral Unit caters for 30 girls and was set up in the mid 1980's, amid negative press about gymslip mothers.
Philippa Budgen went to the centre to meet their teen pregnancy co-ordinator Joyce Lawson, a teacher Ann Savage and some of the pupils.
