Who can doubt the popularity of poetry when newspapers, supermarkets and prisons have their very own poet-in-residence?
But some have taken umbrage at this new literary phenomenon. Some published poets believe that no good poetry is ever produced as a result of these appointments. Others have gone further, saying that poetry should never have mass appeal.
Martha talks to poets Clare Pollard and Peter Sansom and asks them whether there is any value in the poet-in-residence.
