Success For All Friday 15 February 2002
It's well known that girls do better than boys when it comes to reading and writing, with girls ten percentage points ahead of boys in tests at 11.

Duncombe Primary School has been reversing this national trend by piloting an American based literacy scheme here in the UK. Is this behind the boys' success, and what is it about the scheme which particularly appeals to boys?
Phillipa Budgen visits Duncombe Primary School to talk to its headteacher, Barrie O'Shea. Meanwhile, Sheila talks to Judith Wordsworth, director of the scheme, Success For All and to Dr Elaine Millard from Sheffield University.
