Jackie Clune Thursday 20 December 2001
Jackie Clune is the self-proclaimed queen of camp comedy cabaret. After studying drama at Kent University, she moved to Hackney and formed Red Rag Women's Theatre Company with a group of friends, which she says 'became a lesbian collective'.

She was introduced to the comedy scene whilst working part-time at the Hackney Empire, and started performing with musicians, making people laugh in between songs.
When told she sounded like Karen Carpenter, she developed an act and spent the next three years doing the circuit, as well as lecturing full-time in drama at Royal Holloway College.
She's now appearing in Bitchin Christmas at London's Arts Theatre.
She joins Jenni to talk about lesbian jokes, shocked Irish Catholic parents and her gay ex-boyfriend. As well as making some stinging adjustments to the lyrics of Celine Dion and All Saints hits.
Jackie Clune's Bitchin' Christmas is at the Arts Theatre, London until 5th January 2002. Box office: 020 7836 3334
