Bowling Monday 26 November 2001
Bowling has long been associated with grandparents with time on their hands in their retirement. Well, no longer, at least in the competitive world.

The younger generations are taking over. A twelve year old girl, Laura Tucker is about to enter the Guinness Book of Records as the youngest person to compete in a national final.
To try and keep up with its younger members the game itself is undergoing something of a revolution.
It's spruced up its image for television and next week (Dec 3-7th) the Scottish Masters in Glasgow will feature new rules on sudden death to speed up the game, with not an A-line skirt in sight.
But not everyone is happy and the new generation of players could still face a backlash from the more traditional members.
Philippa Budgen has been bowling in Teignbridge in Devon with some of today's rising bowling stars.
