Echoes in Memory - Exhibition at the Queen's House.
Lithuanian born artist Esther Shalev-Gertz has lived and worked in Paris for the last twenty years. Internationally acclaimed for her work in public spaces, her current installation ‘Echoes in Memory’ has just opened at Greenwich National Maritime Museum in South London in the Great Hall of the Queen’s House.
Felicty Finch joined Esther in the Great Hall, whose ceiling used to be decorated with a painting by Orazzio Gentileshci called 'Allegory of Peace and the Arts under the English Crown’ until it was moved to Marlborough House. The painting depicted 24 women, and Felicity started by asking Esther to explain who they were.
