How can gender inequality in the workplace and in the home be reduced?
Efforts to reduce the workplace gender gap in Britain and across the EU have made little progress since the early 1990s according to new research. Across Europe women are still segregated in lower paid and part time work because they still continue to shoulder the main responsibility for running the home and looking after children. They are also still underrepresented in senior positions - just nine percent of men in full time work are managed by women. Jane discusses the findings and what can be done to reduce gender inequality in the home and at work with Dr Brendan Burchell sociologist at the University of Cambridge, Alex Jones from the Work Foundation and Duncan Fisher from Fathers Direct.
