Why are girls put off sport? 28听Feb听2007
Dame Kelly Holmes
This week, in a new series for 成人快手 Radio 4, former World Champion and Olympic Silver medallist Roger Black takes up the challenge of getting Britain鈥檚 kids fit for the London Olympics by spending a term with an inner London comprehensive. To improve the health and fitness of his students he will have to overcome a number of obstacles, not least the particular reluctance of some of his female pupils to take part.

Jenni speaks to Olympic Gold Medallist Dame Kelly Holmes and Dr Toni O鈥橠onovan, Research Fellow at the Carnegie Institute at Leeds Metropolitan University about what can be done to encourage more young women to participate in sport.
