The Science of Attraction 11 Jan 2009
Why are we attracted to one person and not another?

Since the mid-18th century there鈥檚 been the idea that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. However, many psychologists argue that there are certain physical features of the body and face that are found attractive across all individuals and cultures, and that the attractiveness of individuals is directly linked to their value as procreative mates. So, why do some people seem more physically attractive to us than others? Rosie Wilby鈥檚 stand up show 'The Science of Sex' investigates the science of attraction, sexual chemistry and sexual identity. She joins Jane to discuss the issues, along with Viren Swami, an Evolutionary and Social Psychologist and Senior Lecturer at the University of Westminster.

The Science of Sex at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern, London on Wednesday 13th January, before touring the country.
