Mothers freezing their eggs for use by their daughters 19 Feb 2008
Egg in Fallopian Tube
Could this affect the balance of family relationships?

Some British women have decided to freeze their own eggs for their infertile daughters. Jenni hears from a mother who has decided to give her daughter that choice, as she suffers from Turner Syndrome. But what effect could giving birth to half brothers and sisters have on family relationships?

Jenni discusses the ethical and medical issues of donating and freezing eggs that one day could become child and grandchild rolled into one with Dr Gillian Lockwood, Medical Director of Midland Fertility Services and Vice Chair of The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists ethics committee, and Professor Donna Dickenson, Emeritus Professor of Medical Ethics and Law at the University of London, Birkbeck.
