Who should be able to听stop a forced marriage?
Forced Marriage is back on the political agenda. Under the new Forced Marriage Act, third parties, like teachers听and women鈥檚 groups, can apply for a protection order to prevent a forced marriage -听without the consent of the victim. A government consultation is asking relevant organisations for their views on who should be able to ask the courts to take action to stop a forced marriage. Bridget Prentice, the Government Minister in charge of the consultation, and听Jasvinder Sanghera, Founder and Director of Karma Nirvana Asian Women's Project join听Jenni to discuss the proposed legislation.
