One in five directors admits to discriminating against women of child-bearing age.
If you鈥檝e ever been turned down for a job, you will have wondered why. Not enough experience? Too much experience? Did you fail to convince them you wanted it? Or could it have been because you might decide to have babies? According to a recent online survey, one in five company directors admitted they avoid hiring women of child bearing age - the website TakeLegalAdvice.com says it's down to maternity laws. So is legislation that's meant to help women, having the opposite effect? Joining Jane to discuss the issues are UKIP MEP Godfrey Bloom and Sarah Veale from the TUC. |
