And the state of women's football.

According to the Football Association, female football is the fastest growing sport on the planet and in China the 2007 Woman’s World Cup is underway. So how is the English team getting on and to what extent does the future success of the women’s game depend on England’s performance in Shanghai?

As the team were making final preparations for the World Cup, the Football Association launched a new strategy - Girls United - to encourage more girls to take up the sport. In the light of new research which reveals that less than 1 in 200 girls is doing enough exercise, how important is it to encourage moreÌýof themÌýto take up, and keep playing, football? Jane talks to the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ’s JacquiÌýOatley and to Morag Taylor, Women’s Marketing Manager for the FAÌý–Ìýboth of whom areÌýin China with the England team.
