What do they mean to men today?
According to a recent survey from the NSPCC, one in three fathers say it is a struggle for them to be seen to be as important as mothers, and over half say it is a battle to be the father they want to be. Research from the Equality and Human Rights Commission also suggests that fathers want to be move involved in bringing up their children. So what does it mean to be a father in Britain today? Is there such a thing as paternal instinct? How does fathering differ from mothering? And can fathers be as important in bringing up children as mothers? Writer Tony Parsons,听and Sebastian Kraemer, a child and adolescent psychiatrist at the Whittington,听join Jane to discuss.
