Ten thousand men die of prostate cancer each year, but research shows that only a third of men even know where their prostate is. While there have been high-profile awareness campaigns and national screening programmes for breast and cervical cancers, many clinicians feel that prostate cancer has been overlooked. It's more common in men with a family history of the illness, and three times more common in the Afro-Caribbean community.
