A hundred and fifty years ago one of the most famous pieces of music was performed for the first time.Ìý The famous Galop from Offenbach’s ‘Orpheus in The Underworld’ is immortalised as The Can Can. The dance itself is much older and was originally performed by men. Over a period of a hundred years it was re-invented as a dance for women.
