This week, the chairman of the Equality and Human Rights Commission, Trevor Phillips, said it was time to "stop being daft about Christmas".听His remarks follow growing concerns about the demise of the nativity play - apparently fewer schools than ever before are staging a traditional nativity.听
So is Christmas being swept aside by a tide of political correctness? Or are schools simply taking a pragmatic approach to the lack of parts available in the traditional nativity and turning to scripts with more parts and more modern music?
