Last week the Children's Baftas were described as the 'defining wake for children's TV' and leading presenters and programme-makers warned that young people's television would disintegrate unless the Government acted. A recent Ofcom report found that broadcasters were focusing on cartoons and US imports and spending less on home-made programmes. ITV has pulled out of children's production, while the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ has cut its children's budget by ten per cent. So can quality shows for children survive?
