Lack of services available to support and protect women victims of violence
Over three million women across the UK experience violence each year and almost half of all these incidents will be serious or repeated. A new report by End Violence Against Women Coalition has revealed that women face a postcode lottery in their access to basic support - a third of local authorities have no specialised Violence Against Women support service.
Jenni talks to Holly Dustin from the coalition about the findings and what can be done to improve the situation for women. She is joined by Diana Barran who has just won the Beacon Prize for her charity work supporting victims of domestic violence and Brita Fernandez-Schmidt from Womankind Worldwide who has been tackling the issue by running sexual bullying workshops in schools.
