Russell Brand - photo by Jon Shard
On his addictive personality, his rise to fame and his autobiography.

Comedian Russell Brand has written his autobiography – it’s the story of an unsettled child who developed an addictive personality. Through bulimia, self-harming, alcohol abuse and drug addiction, Russell would seem to have been on the road to self destruction, yet he has become one of Britain’s top comedians, winning awards for both his comedy and his style. The dedication in ‘My Booky Wook’ is to his mother – the most important woman in his life - but comes with a warning to her – Don’t read it!
So what drove him to the edge of disaster – and what pulled him back? Jenni talks to Russell and asks whether his mother has read the book – and if so, what she made of it.

My Booky Wook, by Russell Brand,Ìýis published by Hodder & Stoughton, ISBN 978-0-340-93615-3
