Mark Lawson joins John Carey in reviewing The Human Stain, Philip Roth's novel on the moral climate of 1990s America at the time of the Monica Lewinsky affair - now a feature film starring Anthony Hopkins and Nicole Kidman.
Human Stain is released around the country this Friday 23 January 2004. Certificate 18.

ELMINA'S KITCHEN
First it was premiered to great acclaim at the National Theatre, then it was on the radio, and now television. Elmina's Kitchen by Kwame Kwei Armah is set in a West Indian kitchen in East London's "murder mile". Arts editor of New Nation, Andrea Enisou compares the 3 versions.
