Where I Play:

We've performed at the Lochgelly Centre in Fife quite a few times. We also performed at the Queen's Jubilee Concert in Fife which went really well. There was such a diverse programme of music that reflected all walks of life in Britain - rock, pop, classical and us of course with our Indian music.

This Summer we performed for the Edinburgh Mela which is a major annual Asian festival. We rehearsed for quite a few months in preparation and we performed live with musicians representing cultures from all over the world. Indrani BhattacharyaThe array of instruments in action was awesome. After that we performed a solo piece called Swapna Rangeen which means 'colourful dreams'. We also sang some songs and danced. It went really well and was a great experience for us to meet and work with so many new people.

It's just such a good atmosphere at the Mela. It's a major family event with lots of activities for everyone to do. But you'll not only have Asian people, you'll also have lots of British people, all mixing happily together. In some ways it actually feels like India, - the sun is shining, there's music blasting in your ears, there are dancers performing and then there are stalls with food and fabrics for sale from silk to charcoal roasted corn on the cob - the only place you'll get that is at the Mela and in India!
