Elizabeth Chong has transformed the reputation of Chinese food and culture in Australia
In Australia Elizabeth Chong is a household name. She's a celebrity chef and has done more than anyone 鈥� except possibly her father 鈥� to popularise Chinese cuisine. In her cookery classes and then on TV she would share her family's stories as well as recipes, and won millions of fans, both among native-born Australians and newly arrived Asian immigrants. And yet Elizabeth nearly wasn't allowed in to Australia at all. Jo Fidgen hears her story.
