'This is what a barrister looks like'
Young black barrister Alexandra Wilson is fighting for diversity and challenging stereotypes in the British courts after the murder of a close friend inspired her to study law.
Alexandra Wilson is a young black British barrister - and as a result sometimes gets mistaken for the defendant in court. Growing up in Essex she never imagined herself becoming a lawyer, but the murder of a close family friend inspired her career. She studied at Oxford University and was eventually awarded a Queen鈥檚 Scholarship, given to students who show exceptional promise at the Bar. She tells Emily Webb why she's fighting to create a more diverse legal profession.
