Dealing with mass unemployment

We speak to those who argue governments need to radically rethink how best to help the growing ranks of unemployed.

It鈥檚 estimated that the coronavirus pandemic will leave a quarter of a billion people out of work this year. Many of the jobs lost may never come back. Elisabeth Reynolds at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology says governments must take more radical action.
