Vance says 'there is a new sheriff in town'

We have the latest from the Munich Security Conference.

President Zelensky has told the Munich Security Conference that the only Russian official he's prepared to discuss peace negotiations with is Vladimir Putin. The US Vice President, JD Vance, told the conference that Washington could impose economic sanctions on Russia if it refuses to agree what he called "a good peace deal" with Ukraine. He warned that military force might be used. Referring to President Trump, Mr Vance said "a new sheriff was in town"; and he repeated Washington's stance that European countries must play a bigger role in the future defence of the continent.
