Coronavirus spreads to at least 47 countries

For the first time number of new Covid-19 cases detected outside China is greater than those found within

Number of new Covid-19 cases detected outside China is greater than those found within. It is the first time since the outbreak began that more new cases have been confirmed outside of China. At least 47 countries have confirmed cases of coronavirus, with Brazil, Algeria, Greece and Pakistan being among the latest to report the virus’ arrival. Meanwhile, in Australia, the Prime Minister has warned of an imminent global pandemic and Saudi Arabia closes its doors to pilgrims, in an effort to keep the kingdom free of the deadly virus.

Also in the programme: We hear of the little known story of black astronauts’ battle to get into space; and we go to the Czech Republic, where authorities in the capital city Prague are renaming one of the city squares in memory of a murdered critic of Russia’s leadership.
