UK prime minister offers new Brexit deal to the EU

Will it be acceptable to the EU and to Ireland? Or even to the UK Parliament?

The UK has suggested that Northern Ireland comes out of the EU's customs union, alongside the UK, but also that Northern Ireland stays in the single market (with some exceptions), while the UK leaves it. This means not one but two borders, one on the island of Ireland, and another in the Irish sea. Will this be acceptable to Ireland, the EU and indeed, the UK Parliament?

In other news Prince Harry is suing a UK tabloid over coverage of his wife. Is he justified in doing so? And a row breaks out in New Zealand over how Captain Cook treated the indigenous people there when he landed there almost 250 years ago to the day.
