Dan Coats is stepping down from his position as the US Director of National Intelligence.

The US director of national intelligence, Dan Coats, is stepping down in mid-August. President Trump says he'll nominate the Texas congressman, John Ratcliffe, to replace him; deadly attacks by Boko Haram militants in northeastern Nigeria on Saturday are now known to have killed at least sixty-five people; and Hong Kong has seen a second day of violent clashes between police and pro-democracy demonstrators who are also angry at alleged police brutality.
