Corruption diverts food aid in Yemen

The United Nations says food aid is being diverted by some corrupt and uncooperative officials in Houthi-held areas of Yemen, where millions of people are believed to be on the verge of famine.

The United Nations envoy to Libya has warned that fighting in the capital, Tripoli, marks the "start of a long and bloody war". Ghassan Salame told the UN Security Council some countries were fueling the conflict with arms supplies.

In Indonesia, the opposition leader is refusing to concede defeat following the country's election which took place just over a month ago. The electoral commission awarded victory in the presidential election to the incumbent President Joko Widodo.
