Three year transition period to civilian administration agreed in Sudan

Sudan has been ruled by the military council since President Omar al-Bashir was toppled last month.

Sudan's Transitional Military Council has announced an agreement with the opposition, for a three year transition period to a civilian administration.

A termination would only be allowed in certain circumstances to safeguard the mother's health.

President Rodrigo Duterte is set to strengthen his powers after a resounding victory in the midterm elections in The Philippines.
