The US trade representative Robert Lighthizer has said China had eroded its commitments on trade over the last week, a hint at why President Trump announced a further ratcheting up of tariffs. Mary Lovely, a senior fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics, tells us why President Trump might be threatening these higher tariffs, as talks between the two largest economies look set to resume this week. Also in the show, Google's annual developer conference kicks off Tuesday in Mountain View, California. Ian Sherr is executive editor at the technology site CNET based in Silicon Valley, and explains what's on the agenda for the conference.
