In an effort to combat obesity, manufacturers will pay a levy on the high-sugar drinks they sell. The UK joins a small handful of nations, including Mexico, France and Norway, which have introduced similar schemes. Dr Corinna Hawkes, director of the Centre for Food Policy at City University in London, tells us how successful the tax has been around the world.
