Southend historic attraction rides again
The Essex coastline is one of the longest in the UK and has many favourite attractions, Southend's historic Cliff Lift, which has reopened after closing last November for urgent repairs.
For more than a century, passengers have enjoyed a short yet picturesque journey between the town and seafront, but during the summer months an estimated 200 people ride the funicular railway every day, and volunteer Shaun Bryans says more help is needed to run the service...
