The precious VE Day letters found in a wardrobe
"It's a funny business war. We eat in the dining hall and share our tables with some Gerry soldiers which are attached to us. One is now the brigade barber, one the sergeant's cook, one the tailor, one a cobbler, two are dining room orderlies."
By chance, Lindsay May from Kington, Herefordshire, found letters sent by her dad, during World War Two. Her father was stationed in Europe, and in the summer of 1945, was in Germany during VE Day.
One of those letters was written after 8 May, and will feature at the National Memorial Arboretum, exhibiting letters sent during the war to commemorate the 80th anniversary of VE Day.
