Martin Lewis warns against 'pay by app' purchases
Martin Lewis has issued a warning to consumers about the new 'pay by app' feature which some retailers are offering.
When paying at a checkout, consumers are then taken to their bank's mobile app where the payment is taken after logging in with biometrics.
Martin concedes it's a popular new feature for many because it's so quick but he's warning against using the feature for big retail purchases.
"All of the consumer protections that you normally have when you pay by card, you do not have when you pay by app.
"If you are making big retail purchases by pay by app, understand you are naked in terms of consumer protection", he finished.
