Ben Andrews: Farmer, gay, strongman
The Herefordshire farmer is a role model for queer people in the countryside, founding the charity Agrespect, which celebrates LGBTQ+ members of the agricultural and rural communities.
They can often be found at pride events throughout the country, and have been spotted in previous years with their tractor, wrapped in rainbow vinyl.
As part of LGBT History Month on ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Hereford & Worcester, Ben tells Tammy Gooding how the countryside in 2025 is very different to growing up near Leominster, in the shadow of Section 28, and with few role models around.
After leaving his hometown for university, he very quickly returned to his hometown, and has found a burgeoning community thanks to a number of rural events, such as Hay Pride.
He came third in the Britain's Fittest Farmer competition in 2020.
