"The centre of the world": Exploring the deep history of The Strand
The Strand has witnessed to London鈥檚 growth and change from early on.
Is there a London street more iconic than The Strand. It has inspired great songs, is home to one of the grand London hotels and was a hotspot for theatre and music hall during the 19th century. By 1910, the street was known as the 鈥榗entre of the world鈥�.
Now, the Strand has its own biography, written by historian Eileen Chanin and archivist Geoff Browell. Gary Kemp has been speaking to them for 成人快手 Radio London.
