Living in fear of our neighbour

Our housing correspondent, Tarah Welsh, hears from a couple who say they were being abused by their downstairs neighbour on a "pretty much daily and nightly" basis.

Ben bought his flat almost three years ago. It should have been a dream come true, but six months later, a new neighbour moved in downstairs, who Ben says ruined his life.

As well as verbal threats, he says he and his girlfriend Emma were plagued by noise from the flat below; including dogs barking, music, shouting and vacuuming all through the night.

They are not alone in experiencing anti-social behaviour. According to the latest official data from The Crime Survey for England and Wales, 36% of people experienced or witnessed ASB last year, up from 34% the previous year.

In this episode of 5 Minutes On, the 成人快手's housing correspondent, Tarah Welsh, hears from Emma and Ben, and the victims' commissioner, Baroness Newlove.
