Developer 'driving a bulldozer through democracy'
New houses could be built in Redditch, despite the council originally rejecting to plans of building on a golf course and open land last year.
Developer Barratt David Wilson ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖs have appealed that decision, arguing the district has 'unmet housing need'.
Since the original ruling, government housing reforms have more than tripled the town's annual house building target.
The council said it was not in the public interest to 'spend thousands of pounds of public money' defending its decision at a planning inquiry.
Redditch has already seen substantial housebuilding in recent years, such as the nearby Brockhill East site (pictured).
