Harwich and the 125-year-old mystery
You can find all sorts of wonderful and unexpected treasures in charity shops, but how a book awarded as a prize on Guernsey found its way to Essex 125 years later, has left volunteers puzzled.
The Mystery of Kittie-Boy by Jennie Chappell was published by Blackie and Son in 1899, and presented to a Walter Gallienne in 1900.
Ken Garner from the Harwich Cultural and Community Project hopes to reunite the book with the original owner's family on the Channel Islands.
