'I shouted Syria is free - it is a dream'

A Leicester doctor who fled to the city from Syria says he's hopeful for his country's future.

In just two weeks, Syrian rebels swept from their enclave in the north-west to capture a string of major cities, before reaching the capital Damascus and toppling President Bashar al-Assad 13 years after the start of the country's civil war.

The UN's envoy for the country says there have been reassuring messages from the rebel groups that are now in charge.

Dr Mohannad came to the UK as a refugee after fleeing Damascus in 2014 and is now training to be a GP in Leicester. He told 成人快手 Leicester's Ady Dayman that it's the dawn of a new era for Syria and the middle east.
