Essex kayaker paddles over Strood
An Essex watersports enthusiast has managed to kayak the length of a flooded road, near to his coastal home for the first time.
The Strood was built in around 700 AD and is the only way to get on and off Mersea Island.
If the tide goes above five metres - then it's likely to be become impassable.
Oli Jordan has often paddled over the ancient causeway, but this was an opportunity he couldn't miss out on...
