'They said our tap water wasn't safe to drink'

Families in one part of Herefordshire were told the water they'd been drinking and washing in for years was contaminated.

For eight households close to Whitwick Manor, near Ledbury, it was discovered during sampling that potentially harmful bacteria is present in the supply, through a borehole.

A borehole is any narrow or small bore vertical or horizontal shaft drilled in to the ground to extract water, oil or natural gas - and a number of people in Herefordshire rely on this privately-owned supply.

The local authority said users of the supply had been notified. The landowner, Nicholas Layton, told the 成人快手 the properties would soon be connected to mains water.
