The secrets of Droitwich's Thanksgiving originator
Discover the life of Edward Winslow, who set sail to the 'New World' on The Mayflower, and was recognised as one of the first Pilgrims to have sat down with indigenous Americans, starting a tradition that is now known as Thanksgiving.
Born in Droitwich in 1595, the Kings School-educated printer sailed westward in 1620, as one of the most educated men on the ship.
Councillor Richard Morris tells Malcolm Boyden about the life of one of the salt town's most famous sons, as well as how there is to be a day to commemorate the life of a Worcestershire expat, to tie in with the American holiday.
