The long road to a Lower Thames Crossing
A decision on plans for a new Thames Crossing connecting Essex and Kent has once again been delayed – until at least May 2025.
The £8.3m construction project, which has been at least 16 years in the making, would see a new 14-mile stretch of road passing under the River Thames.
Jodie Halford looks back on the long journey to this point.
