Extradited man admits causing Herefordshire crash

It's been described as 'an historic' day. A US man has pleaded guilty to causing serious injury by dangerous driving, after a car crash in Herefordshire left a nurse unable to walk.

Isac Calderon hit 57-year-old聽Elizabeth Donowho on the A4103 near Shucknall last year, leaving her with terrible injuries that she's still trying to recover from.

Incredibly, rather than face the courts last year, Calderon fled the UK on a plane back to Texas, resulting in headlines around the country and major controversy over how it was allowed to happen.

A US judge eventually agreed that he should be extradited here to face justice, resulting in a plane arriving at Heathrow early this morning with police officers flanking the defendant.

Our reporter Tom Edwards speaks to Radd Seiger, Elizabeth Donowho's lawyer.

Calderon will be sentenced at Worcester Crown Court on 7th November.
